Today was a beautiful day, perfect for softball! As Ernie Banks used to say, “Let’s play two”. I actually did play two games – with good and bad results. The first one, for my previously unbeaten team, “The Boulevard”, was not good. We hit like crap most of the game, and our fielding was certainly not up to par. It looked like we were in late-summer form (ugh!). I did ok, I was 1 for 3 with a walk, but that certainly wasn’t enough. In the nightcap, I played for Ryan’s team again, I think I’ve played for them more than Ryan has. We were losing most of that game, until the 6th inning when we went nuts… batting around twice and getting 15 runs in just that inning! Needless to say, we won. I did much better, also. I got to play shortstop, and I had a good day in the field. At the plate I was 3 for 4 with a walk, and I just missed getting one more at bat. Next week will be the fun – we play Ryan’s team (and he had better be there!), so I can’t sub for them.
