Trick or treat

Well, Halloween has come and gone.  Officially, we still have an hour left in the holiday, but in reality it was over after the last of the trick or treaters left.  Due to the weather, there weren’t as many kids as Vanessa and I had been expecting, so half the candy we bought is left.  There were a good assortment of little kids as well as some teenagers.  Some people get all grouchy and pissy about the teens going around begging for candy.  I don’t mind at all, especially if they dress up and are well behaved, like the ones who came to my house.  Plus, they came around in groups, which shows that they are doing it more for fun.  I find it a little weird if some 16 year old goes by himself, but when they are with friends it’s all good to me.  I give them the candy, and I hope they enjoy it.  What’s the point in getting pissed off if someone goes through the effort to dress up and goes around trick or treating?  It’s not like a bag of candy is going to break the bank.  Hell, we bought 4 bags of candy, which maybe set us back a whopping $15.00.  Giving out a few candy bars to teens will cost what – a couple bucks?!  As long as they aren’t going around beer or treating (that’s for Ray and me to to do), I say let them have their candy bars!
