Different look, same great taste
Finally, after much speculation, rumors, and other innuendo, I have released the new theme to the ol' website. I call this theme "Shenandoah", mostly because the banner is from one of my pictures I took while hiking around Shenandoah National Park (the picture in question is shown below).
For now, I am sticking with Graffiti as my site's engine. I've been poking around the latest code drop from the Codeplex site, and one of the things I wanted (routing) is enabled. Now, I just need to wait for my host to move me to Windows Server 2008 before I use that feature. One other major change is the database engine. I finally moved all of the data from VistaDB to SQL Server. I had no problems with VistaDB, it worked fine for a low-traffic site such as this one. However, as of right now there is no license for VistaDB distributed with the latest Graffiti source code. Besides, I have been using SQL Server for years, and I have all of the necessary tools to keep the schema and data updated.
I'm no designer, but I am pretty happy with how the site came out. I still may tweak a few styles here and there, but otherwise it looks good to go. And, of course, there are a few areas that I need to "beef up" - projects in particular. Feedback is welcome, so fire away.
