Monday night we had our annual end of the year banquet for the bowling league. As usual, it consisted of a steak or chicken dinner and drinks, followed by the awarding of prize money. The Lebowskis finished in 14th place this season, out of 22 teams. It was the same as last season , although I would consider it a slight fall since there were 24 teams then. We started off this season quite well, finishing in the top 10 during the first half. However, we fell apart during the second half, which concluded...

Recap sheet Week 16 was good to the Lebowskis. We won 5 points out of 7, the only reason we didn't win all of them was that our opponent had an excellent first game. And, as opposed to last week, everyone on the team bowled above his average. In fact, Nick had his highest series ever - a 657. He was in good position for a 700 series, but his shot fell apart during the last game. Regardless, he did have a good night. Prior to bowling we were in 8th place with a 57 - 48 record, now we are 62 - 50....

Recap sheet The Lebowskis had an excellent Week 15. We won all 7 points, which brings our record to 57 - 48. That should keep us in the top half of the standings (we were in 11th place out of 22 teams). Most of us had a good night at the lanes, unfortunately Tony was the exception to that. He did have one decent game, but his other two games were less than stellar. The other four of us each bowled well above our averages....

Recap sheet The last couple of years I had blogged almost every week's results, but have this season I have only blogged once about bowling. I thought I would get the Lebowskis site integrated with it's own blog, but I haven't really gotten to that yet. So, here I am back with results. We won 5 points and lost 2 points during week 12. That gives us a season record of 46 - 38, which is pretty damn good for us. Last night I bowled my 2nd best series ever - a 773; my highest ever is a 777. So, despite...

I haven't blogged about bowling yet this year for various reasons, but those who really cared could have just followed us on the Lebowskis site (as usual). We actually have done fairly well this year, after 9 weeks we are 32 - 31. Weeks 7 and 8 were rough - we were missing a bowler each of those weeks and ended up losing all 7 both weeks. Outside of those two weeks, we have done quite well, winning most of the time. That's not to say that we are doing great on a bowler to bowler basis, but we are...

We had our season-end banquet tonight, where we dine on steak, drink brews, and collect our prize money. All in all, we had a decent year - we finished in 14th place (out of 24 teams). That's pretty damn good for us. Now let's look at how we each did on an individual basis. Tony ended the year with a 163 average, down from 166 last year. He's down from the last several years - during the 2004-2005 season he averaged 172, and the two seasons prior to that he averaged 176. He did show signs of improving...

Recap sheet So that's it, the season is over. Tonight was our last night of bowling, and we ended the season on a decent note. We won the first two games to give us 8 in a row (18 points straight), which is a very good streak in Lebowski-land. We did lose the last game, but won total to give us 5 points on the night - we won the last 4 weeks of the season! On an individual basis, no one bowled great, but no one bowled horribly either. It was a completely average night. I threw the ball fairly well...

Recap sheet Once again, the Lebowskis ruled the night! We easily won all 7 points for the night, which was the position round for the second half of the season. That makes it 14 points in a row. I haven't really kept track of our streaks, but if that isn't our best it is certainly close to it. With those 7 points won, our record on the second half is now 56 - 56. The Hunts ruled the night - all three of us had our best nights of the season, while Nick and Dad both had their highest series ever (at...

Recap sheet Finally - the Lebowskis sweep the night and get all 7 points! A large part of our success was Dad's excellent night - he had a 710 series, which was his best week since the 2004 - 2005 season. Tony also had a pretty good night's total, thanks to his highest score of the year during the second game. The rest of us didn't have great nights, but we were close to our average which certainly helped us in victory. Two weeks to go on the season!...

Recap sheet April bowling always means that the end is near. With the way the weather was today, I think the team would have rather been golfing or something instead of bowling. However, we still bowled fairly well. We won 4 points and lost 3 against one of the better teams in the league, so that does make for a good night. Nick and I were the only ones who were above average, but our opponents didn't have a very good night, hence our wins. Nick had two good games and was on the way to a really good...
